Reduce, reuse and recycle your social media content.

Repurposing your top-performing content can reinforce your messaging, help you reach new audiences and save you time.

You know the old adage: work smarter, not harder. Here at Mint, we are huge advocates for extending the longevity of content that has performed well.

This can be done in many ways, such as; by shortening longer content into bite-sized pieces, resharing older content that is relevant in the current context or transforming video content into static posts.

Here is an example of how we repurposed a blog post we wrote into a static ‘checklist’ style graphic.

By doing this we;

  • Reached new audiences and newsfeeds, giving us another opportunity to reach those that may have scrolled past the original post.
  • We reinforced the information in the blog, by laying out the key points in this static post.
    This also serves as a reminder to those that originally viewed the blog of the value it brought to them.
  • In addition, we saved our team time, since the bulk of the content was already written. They didn't need to think of fresh ideas; they simply had to pick out the best bits of information.

Next time you’re stumped for fresh content ideas, give this handy tip a go.
