Would you believe that 80% of consumers are more likely to watch your videos when captions are available?
So often, people are watching videos with no sound. They might be on a train, at their desk, or just in a place where it just doesn’t quite feel right to watch a video with sound on. This is where subtitles can really level up your content and make it easier to digest.
Adding subtitles to your videos is a simple yet effective way to cater to the needs of your audience and decreases the chances of viewers simply scrolling past your content.
The good news is it’s never been easier to add subtitles to your videos. Instagram has simplified this process by enabling the feature to add closed captions ‘in app’. This can be done by heading to the ‘stickers’ tab and selecting ‘captions’.
Alternatively, if you are uploading to YouTube, it can do this for you automatically. Or, if you’re like us and you’re dealing with Kiwi accents and you want to get those subtitles right our videographer Karl says, just do it yourself in your video editing software.
