Are you struggling with writer's block when it comes to crafting compelling captions for your social media content?
Keep listening to hear Mint’s three-step formula for crafting a ‘scroll-stopping’ caption.
Step 1: consider how to gain the attention of your audience. This often starts with a gripping opening line.
Asking a question can be a great way to entice an audience, especially if it taps into an area of concern or intrigue that they may have.
For example, we started this video by asking you if you were experiencing writer's block. This question worked to hook you in and hinted at the value that you would receive from our video.
Another key tip with the opening line is to address your audience. We’ve mentioned in previous videos that the word “you” is one of the most powerful words in marketing, and can really level up your captions.
Step number 2 in writing a successful caption is conveying the ‘body rich’ content to your audience. This is where you communicate the key information such as details about your new product, next event or whatever your video is about.
The third and final step to creating a ‘scroll-stopping’ caption is to end with a direct call to action.
What do you want your audience to do as a result of your post?
Do you want them to head to a certain link, engage with your post or get in contact with you?
Whatever it is, finishing your post with a clear next step lets your audience know how they can continue to gain value from interacting with you.
Have a go at using this formula next time you write a caption.
